Anna Hazare & Desire for a Corrution Free India !!

The ongoing events have forced us to think, how independent we are as a citizen? It's ironical that we just celebrated 67th Independence Day(15th Aug) yesterday and still trying to understand what independence really mean. The joy of independence was overshadowed by the pain inflicted, reminding us the very fact that how helpless we are in spite of being a citizen of a so called 'democratic nation'. The fundamental right to express oneself is not being granted. You will be jailed if you happen to love your nation or remind people to fight against the injustice they have been tolerating for years.

The release of Anna Hazare from jail within 12 hours has brought up one good thing that the power of people and power of truth is far more the power of money and politics. A simple man from a village of Maharashtra, Anna Hazzare, has woken the government out of slumber. Anna has invoked the sense of self among people and has channelled their energy towards a cause, Corruption eradication, which was long been awaited. People have come down on streets protesting as they have realized that it’s now or never. The whole struggle to pass the LOKPAL BILL in parliament would as said by Anna would abolish 60-70 % of the corruption in the system.

Now the government’s response to arrest people protesting and Anna, has come as a shock as we always were proud of being a part of a democratic nation. Denial of a fundamental right to protest or express oneself is rather a disappointing reaction from government. Police seems to have been driven by the ruling political party and army as usual has no inputs to give. The opposition party has been supporting Anna blatantly though the reason is pretty palpable.

Anna Hazzare is a vanguard of the movement. Anna Hazzare Hunger Strike against corruption and the agitation among people supporting him has reached high point and the ray of hope to have a corruption free India seems to have been becoming all the more brighter.
