Mess of a Coallition Government !!

Mamta Banerjee, Chief Minister of West Bengal, has provided support to the Congress party in order to form government at center called UPA. Not a single day goes, without her reminding the Congress and our so called prime minister "Mr Manmohan Singh" of her worth. Well, she has always opposed any kind of reforms coming in. She made sure that 51% FDI in Retail gets burned to the ground by holding the government hostage. Her stubborn attitude drove an imperative TATA NANO project out of West Bengal and she says that the state needs money. If she wouldn't let business to grow and people to invest in her state (or India like FDI), how does she think the prosperity will come. She seems to have hijacked the nation. And this has given the most corrupt, leadership lacking and ignorant ruling party to put all the blame of the failing policies on the coalition.

The situation became hilarious when i heard in news yesterday that she forced the prime minister to make Railway minister resign because Mr trivedi, the railway minister, hiked the railway fares. She always tries to show how concerned she is about the poor in the country. First question is does she really didn't know that a member of her TMC party was going to announce the budget with fare hike. Even if we believe her that she didn't know, she has no right to interfere with Railway ministry. Where her love for financially weaker section goes when she forces businesses & reforms out, because of her adamant behavior. Sometimes, i feel she intentionally wants poor people to remain poor so that she can talk about them and fill her vote bank.

Even DMK has started to influence the decisions made at center. DMK decided to pull out its support if India doesn't vote for killings of Tamilians in Srilanka issue. And ultimately, UPA had to give in to its demand.

The whole idea of coalition government seems to be flawed. The two-party system seems extremely wise. AT least, Ruling party will not put all the blame on coalition government and remain busy in pilling up stashes of cash in Swiss accounts. And these state parties who give support will not act against reforms, calling them anti-federal. The nation is in desperate need of extreme political reforms.
