Ours is a generation that respects change, lets be a part of it!!

Master chef, a new show started today on star plus, yet another copy of an star world show 'Master Chef'. I can't believe that our TV channels can't come up with any original innovative show. We are the country which supplies engineers, doctors and consultants to the world and yet we can't come up with an original idea or is it that the producers are just not prepared to take risk for something new. They just want to stick with ideas that has done well around the world and put their money on them. KBC, Big Boss, I am a celebrity get me outta here, kathron ke khiladi (fear factor), Sach ka samana (moment of truth) and many others are just an indian versions of money making shows of the west. Its not that all shows that do well in the west are successful here too, indian version of 'I am a celebrity, get me outta here' was a flop but ofcourse they have greater chances of doing well.

It's not just the case with small screen, even majority of our bollywood movies are copied from moveis from different languages. I realised that when i started watching UTV world movies that shows movies from all around the world. Its not that our writters have ran out of scripts but its our producers who just don't want to trust them.

It is high time that our producers start taking risk and trust new ideas as well. The greater the risk, the higher the return. It might be that we come with a concept that shakes the world around and our show start being taken up by the west and trust me we are fully capable of it. Lets respect the innovative and new ideas and build upon then. Ours is a generation that respects change, lets be a part of it.

I just hope to see few new and original shows on our T.V. channels and new movies with stories that nobody has thought of before. Come on guyz, our creative talent is at stake..
